Jobs portal open; brisk interest in Procter & Gamble jobs

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Procter & Gamble’s hiring portal has been busy in the first two days that it’s been in operation.

The company is taking applications for its new manufacturing plant under construction at Tabler Station near Martinsburg in Berkeley County.

As many as 1,000 temporary jobs will be created during construction with 700 permanent positions created after production begins in two years, according to Procter & Gamble officials.

Most of the 80-plus applicants who used the portal on Thursday and Friday were from West Virginia and most of them from the Martinsburg area.

Interested residents are asked to apply at www.pgcareers.com.

Ground was broken for the $500 million plant Sept. 18.
