World Fuel Services Bags $14.5 Million MGO Supply Deal for U.S. Department of Defense

World Fuel Services Corporation [NYSE: INT] (WFS) has been awarded a maximum $14,478,577 fixed-price contract to supply marine gas oil (MGO) to the U.S. military and civilian agencies, the U.S. Department of Defense (USDOD) has announced.

The deal will see WFS supply the fuel to the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies in Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico through April 30, 2019.

"This was a competitive acquisition with five responses received. This is a four-year base contract with no option periods," U.S. Department of Defense said.

"Type of appropriation is fiscal 2015 through fiscal 2019 defense working capital funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Energy, Fort Belvoir, Virginia (SP0600-15-D-0383)."

In May WFS reported a "solid' first quarter 2015 result, which saw the firm's marine segment increase its gross profit 3 percent year-over-year to $6.1 million.
