United Parcel Service (UPS) reported second quarter EPS of $1.35 Tuesday morning, compared to $0.49 in the previous year. Analysts expected EPS of $1.27.

United Parcel Service gapped up sharply Tuesday and climbed throughout the second half of the morning. Shares finished with a gain of 4.82 at $99.94, with volume at a 3-month high. The stock leaped to a 1-month high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
