HP is still a well-known name in the computing industry, and recently they announced a partnership with luxury watch maker Movado to bring a smartwatch to market in the future. As of today, HP has just announced a brand new partnership with another watch brand, this time Titan Co, and instead of one smartwatch they plan to end up releasing a range of smartwatches for various international markets. The goal is to launch the smartwatches later this year, but since there isn’t a whole lot of time left in 2015 consumers in the regions where these watches are made available can likely expect to see them go up for purchase sometime within the next month.

According to Titan Co, they along with HP plan on launching the watches in India, as well as international markets, but there has been no mention of the smartwatch lineup coming to the United States or other western markets. Interestingly enough, though, Ravi Kant  who is the CEO of Titan’s Watches and Accessories division states that their plan is to make these watches available “across the world” as well as India, so there may be a chance that US consumers will be able to get their hands on them without having to import. The idea behind the watches from HP and Titan is to create a “lifestyle brand” so they will probably look more like traditional watches than new age tech, although the details on what the smartwatches will be capable of are still unclear, including whether or not they’ll run something like Android Wear or simply carry basic smartwatch functions like notifications.

Having said that, HP has stated that their vision is to help watch makers craft stylish timepieces that aren’t looking to sacrifice form for function, which is another hint as to the capabilities consumers are going to be looking at when these hit the shelves. Chances are they won’t be featuring touchscreens, music capabilities, or the ability to look up directions just by speaking, but rather the ability to stay connected to smartphones so users won’t be missing calls or texts, or other important notifications.
