Calgary, Alberta-based Imaginea Energy Corp. received US$300 million from Westport, Conn.-based private-equity firm Lime Rock Partners, Imaginea said May 29.
The two companies previously partnered in the 2010 funding of Black Shire Energy Inc., which was sold in 2013 to Twin Butte Energy, also based in Calgary, the company said.
Imaginea’s CEO Suzanne West said, "I am excited with how the Imaginea team, made up of Black Shire veterans and new team members, is tirelessly and passionately starting to implement our business plan. It is only appropriate that we are also continuing our great relationship with the Lime Rock Partners team as our investment partner in Imaginea. We look forward to pursuing our acquisition-driven strategy and applying the new ideas we've developed to make Imaginea a leader in profitability and sustainability."
Imaginea Energy Corp. acquires and develops oil and natural gas in western Canada.
