Vanessa Marano will be part of Netflix‘s “Gilmore Girls,” becoming the latest original cast member to join the revival, Variety has learned exclusively.
Marano will reprise her role as Luke’s (Scott Patterson) daughter April Nardini, who appeared in “Gilmore Girls” in the six and seventh seasons. The character was polarizing, as fans of the beloved show blamed April for Lorelai’s (Lauren Graham) breakup with Luke, as he turned to the unexpected responsibility of having a daughter.
It’s not been made clear in which or how many of the four episodes Marano will appear.
After “Gilmore Girls,” Marano starred on the soap “The Young and the Restless. She currently stars on Freeform’s long-running family drama “Switched at Birth,” which was renewed for a fifth season.
Marano is one of many original cast members who will appear in Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls,” joining Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Jared Padalecki (Dean), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess), Matt Czuchry (Logan), David Sutcliffe (Christopher), Liza Weil (Paris), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane) and Yanic Truesdale (Michel). Sutton Foster is so far the only non-original cast members who will be in the four-part series.
No premiere date or official title has been set for Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls.”
