BENGALURU: For the first time in Karnataka, the
University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru is all set to host a 4-day-long
Agricultural Science Congress focusing on strategies of
climate smart agriculture from Tuesday.
An initiative of UAS, Bangalore in collaboration with
National Academy of Agricultural Science (NAAS), New Delhi and
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, the congress will provide an intellectually stimulating platform for discussing the entire gamut of issues in agriculture and allied sciences.
Starting from
socio-economic empowerment of marginal farmers through cutting-edge technology to policy initiative for sustainable farming, forestry and natural resource management in tune with global climate change, improving production, value addition, marketing and export of field crops to horticulture produce and milk, meat, poultry, fish and marine products for enhancing returns to those engaged in these activities, the Congress will critically examine all.
The Congress is expected to be attended by over 2,000 participants from across the country and abroad.
