Some in the LGBTQ community were puzzled and dismayed by Pope Francis's meeting with Kim Davis. Why I don't know.

Gay and lesbian Catholics called the Pope's meeting with Davis "puzzling" and said it "throws a wet blanket" on his trip to the United States last week.
What do you expect from a religious leader whose Bible states:

Note: The Old Testament of the Christian Bible is comprised of the exact same books that comprise the religious book of Judaism, called the Tanakh.

The Pope is nothing but a man and the Bible, Tanakh and all world religions (and their religious books) are nothing but mythical books written by men. The Bible and Tanakh contain scientific errors, historical errors, contradictions and unbelievable and unsubstantiated historical events.
If people want to believe in the Bible or Tanakh that is their religious right, but no one should use their religion to discriminate against anyone.
No one in the LGBTQ community should place any importance on a poorly written book attributed to a mythical, omnipotent, omnipresent and all knowing male creator god.
An omnipotent, omnipresent and all knowing male creator god who does not know the moon is not a created light but reflects the light of the sun.
Genesis 1:16

An omnipotent, omnipresent and all knowing male creator god whose first five books of his Bible and Tanakh were allegedly authored by Moses--in what should be a self-autobiography, yet Moses does not know the name of the Pharaohs daughter or Pharaoh who raised him. A African princess in ancient Africa-Kemet (Egypt) finding a baby and naming him Moses would be like a princess in ancient Asia or Greece finding a baby and naming him Lebron.

What else should be expected from the men who wrote the Bible and Tanakh, after all when the Bible and Tanakh were written men had no idea what our moon was, and thought the earth was flat and the center of our universe. They had limited knowledge of zoology and saw a bat flying and assumed it was a fowl/bird. They had no knowledge of dinosaurs inhabiting the earth millions of years before humans--dinosaurs are not scientifically described and identified in detail until the 1800 and 1900's.
The men who wrote the Bible and Tanakh had no idea what the names of the pharaohs or African princesses were because the Rosetta Stone was not discovered until 1799 with its scripts of Greek, African-Kemetic Mdw-Ntr (hieroglyphics) and Demotic (ancient African-Kemet in the Nile Delta) which allowed historians to uncover the names, stories and history of ancient Africa-Kemet (Egypt).
Even though I am a heterosexual, I still wonder why anyone would be puzzled and dismayed by what the Pope does, after all this is the same religion whose scriptures condemn the biologically predetermined sexual orientation of the LGBTQ community, while the same scriptures condone sexism against women and read like a operational manual with guidelines and instructions for the enslavement of humans, including children, the beating and killing of slaves and how loyal and obedient slaves should be to their slave masters.
These following numerous, often unread, lest examined--and to some unknown extant scriptures are not the scriptures of a loving, caring and benevolent supreme creator god, they are the mythical writings of men--and along with the anti-LGBTQ scriptures cited earlier, should be kept in its proper place and out of the realm of governance (Separation of Church and State).
