Dow Chemical Selects Gary McGuire As VP and Treasurer To Replace Retiring Fernando Ruiz

disclosed that its board has selected Gary McGuire as new VP and Treasurer replacing Fernando Ruiz, who is retiring after over three and half decades of service. Ruiz assumed his role in August 2001 and would retire officially later in the current year to ensure smooth transition. Dow Chemical said that McGuire joined the company in 1988 and has been holding different roles in financial and materials management, treasury and enterprise-wide risk management. In 2007, he was named as Chief Investment Officer with the responsibility of the management of a global pension and insurance assets. In January 2016, he was named as assistant treasurer. The company's Vice Chairman and CFO, Howard Ungerleider, said that "Gary has been instrumental in driving financial discipline, transparency and efficiency, and brings a broad array of experience and management across multiple disciplines and geographies. I am pleased to have his focused leadership as we continue to drive our strategic agenda forward." Ungerleider also commented about retiring Fernando Ruiz saying, "Throughout his career, Fernando has been a key facet of Dow finance, and under his watch the Company's treasury department has grown into a world-class institution. His insights and leadership have done so much for the company, and he exemplifies our values of integrity and respect for people." Shares of the company traded down by 0.92% on Monday.
