With Samsung constantly battling it out with Apple when it comes to their flagship devices, consumers have grown accustomed to seeing both companies out-do each other with their latest releases. Thus, despite the recent unveiling of Samsung's Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge devices, many are already anticipating the release of the Galaxy S7 and what innovative features it may come with.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone is rumored to be released early next year, possibly as early January or February 2016. With only a few months to go, rumors and leaks have begun to roll in and reveal tidbits about the upcoming smartphone from Samsung.

Earlier reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a magnesium alloy body, which would mean that the upcoming flagship device will not only be lightweight, it will also have more protection against overheating.

Samsung has also been reported to be developing their own Turtle Glass panel to replace the Corning Gorilla Glass that they have been using. The rumored Turtle Glass panel is said to be much stronger than the Gorilla Glass. If Samsung is developing their own smartphone display panel, then it is likely that they would showcase their newest technology in their upcoming flagship device.

Furthermore, like the S6 models, Samsung is also said to be releasing two variants of the Galaxy S7: a 5.2-inch model and a 5.8-inch model with either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM.

Now, the latest rumor out of South Korea is that Samsung will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset for the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphones.

According to Reuters, the United States and China will be getting the S7 equipped with the Snapdragon CPU. Phone Arena revealed that Qualcomm's newest processor has been enhanced to use less power and is less likely to have overheating issues. The Snapdragon 820 processor is also likely to be paired with the Adreno 530 GPU.

Meanwhile, other countries will be getting their Galaxy S7 smartphones equipped with Samsung's own Exynos chipset. Based on rumored benchmark tests, Samsung will be using their latest Exynos 8890 processor, which they have dubbed as the M1 or Mongoose.

Reuters also mentioned that a Samsung spokeswoman declined to comment on the validity of these reports. As such, it should be noted that these reports are still only speculations. More details should come in as the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 inches closer.
