Earnings for ABB Ltd (ADR) Expected to Fall

Analysts expect decreased profit for ABB Ltd (ADR) when the company reports its first quarter results on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Although ABB Ltd reported profit of 28 cents a year ago, the consensus estimate calls for earnings per share of 26 cents.

After being $11.37 billion a year ago, analysts project revenue to drop 20% year-over-year to $9.09 billion for the quarter. For the year, revenue is projected to roll in at $36.83 billion.

Powell Industries, Inc., also in the electronic instr. and controls industry, will report earnings on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Analysts are expecting earnings of $0.50 per share for Powell Industries, up 108% from last year's earnings of $0.24 per share. Jinpan International, another company in the electronic instr. and controls industry is also expected to report soon, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.
