What Revlon's 5 New Mascaras Look Like on Real Lashes

Not all mascaras are created equal. Given every eye shape and lash length differs from person to person, it's impossible to make a bet that one mascara is going to work on 100 percent of the people who use it. Knowing this, Revlon created five brand-new mascaras to handle every lash woe known to mankind. Four mascaras tackle specific gripes like lash length, lash color, definition, and volume; one handles all of these at the same time! The Revlon All-in-1 Mascara is available in November 2015, but you'll have to wait until January 2016 to get your hands on the rest (luckily we have an exclusive sneak peek).

I tested out all of them — here are my thoughts, favorites, and tips!

Revlon Volume + Length Magnified

Revlon Volume + Length Magnified

Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara is easily my favorite mascara of the bunch. I have fairly long lashes, so I need help adding volume. I don't like my lashes too defined, either — I need them to look akin to Ardell's Demi Wispie Lash, and this does the job. The wand is like an oversize brush, so it really gets every lash without depositing too much product.

For whatever reason, my left eye (shown) has shorter lashes; this mascara thickened up the base of my lashes while adding length.

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara is for the person who has the height but not the muscle, so to speak. The focus is really fattening up the lashes, and the wand gets the job done.

The oversize bristles contain a lot of product, and they can leave your lashes a little wet, but after letting my first coat dry, I had no problems with clumping. It does a great job of separating the lashes, too, and made mine look fuller.

Revlon Super Length Mascara

I'm not 100 percent certain, but it appears this mascara has tiny fibers to emulate actual lashes, which is great for anyone with stubby lashes. The wand is the largest of all the new mascara launches.

I felt like I could easily teeter into tarantula territory while using this wand, but check out the result on my "runtish" lashes! Definitely longer but no arachnid lashes in sight.

Revlon Dramatic Definition

Revlon Dramatic Definition

Dramatic Definition focuses on giving each lash its own time in the limelight without clumping, which means the wand is rubber and contains shorter, stubbier bristles.

As you can see, my lashes definitely are defined! They're not super fluttery, but that's because this is a mascara with a wetter payoff.

Revlon Ultimate All-in-1

Revlon Ultimate All-in-1

This is the Frankenstein of the mascara bunch; it pieces together the best parts of all the other mascaras to create the ultimate result. The All-in-1 brush has the tiniest of wands, so it gets all up in your lash line; you can easily get the corner lashes, the base, and your lower lashes.

Definitely longer, definitely separated, definitely more voluminous. It took a few minutes longer to apply, since my lashes are longer (I know, "get over it, Kirbie!") and it took a couple more coats than the others — but as you can see from the results, the extra application time was worth it.
