Indian Bank outplayed RBI 5-1 in the CFA senior division football league at the Nehru stadium on Thursday.

Indian Bank scored three goals in the first half. Kapongo Lunga Patient scored off a penalty in the second half after Elavarasan went down to a rough tackle inside the box.

There were a few missed chances in the second half, though.

D. Lepcha, with a defender desperately trying to catch up close behind him, failed to score with only the ’keeper to beat. N. Lepcha hit the crossbar off Kapongo’s cross from the left. Kapongo himself hit a cross from the right straight to the ’keeper. Indian Bank coach Syed Sabir Pasha rued the missed chances, saying the team ought to have scored off those. “Being ahead of the opposition is no excuse to miss chances. Concentration lapse needs to be rectified, and the defence is to be improved. Otherwise, it’s a good win,” he said.

RBI’s only goal came off a set piece. Shiva Priyan headed in Saran’s corner in the 80th minute.
