CASA of Will County Announces Fourth Annual "Golf for the Child" Classic

JOLIET, Ill. (May 30, 2016) - CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Will County, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit serving abused and neglected children in the Will County juvenile court system, is set to host the Golf for the Child Classic Presented by Exelon on Friday June 24, 2016, at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Lockport. The golf event helps to raise funds for CASA of Will County programs, which train volunteer advocates to act as the voice of children involved in the juvenile court system due to no fault of their own.

The event will feature an 18-hole scramble tournament with a 7:30 a.m. continental breakfast and Bloody Mary bar sponsored by Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Life Insurance Company, followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration is $125 per golfer or $500 per foursome and will include use of practice range, locker rooms, on-course prizes and games (Hole-In-One, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Longest Putt Contest, Beat the Pro and more), goodie bags for all registrants, continental breakfast, drink tickets and full luncheon buffet with silent auction and additional prizes. Luncheon tickets are available for $50 each.

In 2016, we helped 331 Will County children, representing 69 percent of those in need. Our goal is 100 percent, and we can get there with strong participation from golfers and corporate sponsors in events like the Golf for the Child Classic.”

The schedule for the 2016 “Golf for the Child” Classic is as follows:

7:30 a.m. – Registration, Bloody Mary Bar, and driving range practice opens

8:30 a.m. – Shotgun start; with on-course prizes and games

12:30 p.m. – Cocktail reception (time approximate following play) and luncheon begins

2 p.m. – Silent Auction closes, brief remarks and awarding of prizes
