WWMT Newschannel 3 back on Dish Network after blackout

WWMT

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Dish Network customers will be able to watch WWMT Newschannel 3 again after a brief blackout this week during a contract dispute.

WWMT returned to Dish Network Wednesday evening after an agreement was reached between Dish Network and WWMT's parent company, Sinclair Broadcast Group, to end the blackout.

The two companies have agreed in principle to a long-term deal, according to the Associated Press, and they extended their current contract two weeks to finalize the new agreement.

Dish turned off more than 150 local television stations spread across 79 different markets on Tuesday in what was the biggest blackout in the history of television, according to the Wall Street Journal.
