MADISON, Wis. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced its selections for the 2016 Division I All-Region award-winners and three Badgers are among the group.

Among the winners are first-team picks Hannah Schwartz and Gillian Cooper, as well as second-team selection Brianna Dahm. All three are seniors.

For Schwartz, a 2015 CRCA Second-Team All-American, she is the first two-time, first-team, all-region rower in school history. The Milwaukee native is currently competing at her third NCAA championships in the varsity eight for the 10^th-ranked Badgers. Her boat placed 13th in 2015 and 17th in 2014 at NCAAs.

Schwartz, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten rower as an English and legal studies double major, was already named 2016 All-Big Ten as a second-team rower.

Cooper, a first-team all-Big Ten pick this season, has been with Schwartz in the varsity eight the past three seasons. She is a native of Auckland, New Zealand.
Both helped the Badgers' varsity eight place third at this year's Big Ten championships and the team to a second-place finish at the event.

Dahm earns her first recognition as a rower, making second-team all-region. One of the more remarkable stories in all of Wisconsin athletics, Dahm has been in Army ROTC during her time as a Badger to go along with her rowing career. While doing that, she has double majored in psychology and legal studies.

The Manitowoc native is rowing in the varsity eight at NCAAs this weekend for the third time in her career.

Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches' recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season. These athletes will be eligible for All-America awards selection following the NCAA Rowing Championships.
