Brooke Mimmack and Ashley Fitterer won both of their matches as the Brainerd Warriors lost to Princeton 6-1 and defeated Staples-Motley 7-0 in their triangular Saturday.
Mimmack and Fitterer combined for a doubles win against Princeton's Krysta Maus-Hannah Johnson 6-2, 6-2.
Against S-M, Mimmack shifted to No. 1 singles and beat Ashley Smith 6-0, 6-0. Ashley Fitterer teamed up with her sister Payge at No. 1 doubles to beat Lauren Nelson-Lexi Johnson 6-2, 6-3.
"We were excited to host our first home regular-season matches," Warriors coach Lisa Salo said. "Our goal was to compete aggressively and smart throughout the day. We accomplished that.
"We really pushed a strong Princeton team in all positions. Brooke and Ashley set the tone with a solid performance at first doubles. Payge at first singles and Emily Price at third singles went three sets and those matches were long and intense. In our final match of the day, we continued to play aggressive, controlled tennis."
