September 1, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 102 equities making new 52-week lows today.

ArcelorMittal (NYSE: MT) dropped nearly 5% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $7.49 against a 52-week high of $15.19. The stock closed at $7.88 on Monday night. Volume is roughly equal to the daily average of around 8.2 shares traded. The company’s contract with the United Steelworkers expires at midnight tonight.

Exelon Corp. (NYSE: EXC) dropped about 2.5% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low at $30.00 after closing at $30.76 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $38.93. Share volume was about 10% below the daily average of around 8.3 million. The utility said Tuesday all its Illinois nuclear plants in PJM cleared in the transition capacity auction for the 2016-17 planning year. New rules have been enacted to strengthen grid reliability.

Banco Santander SA (NYSE: SAN) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday. Shares dropped about 3.4% to a low of $5.88 from Monday’s closing price of $6.09. The stock’s 52-week high is $10.29. Volume totaled about 20% below the daily average of around 7 million. The Spanish bank had no specific news today.

Joy Global Inc. (NYSE: JOY) dropped about 7.9% on Tuesday to set a new 52-week low of $22.31 after closing at $24.22 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $63.29. Share volume totaled around 4.3 million shares, about 80% higher than the daily average of around 2.4 million. The heavy equipment maker is scheduled to announce third-quarter on Thursday, and expectations are not particularly rosy.
