EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Helfrich Park students had their moment in the spotlight as they presented STEM projects to the leadership team at Berry Global.

During the project, students partnered with mentors from Berry Global, and spent up to six months developing inventions that improve the experience of those working with manufacturing technologies.

The inventions covered a variety of industries including sports and healthcare.

“Our involvement in the project is really teaching the students about the process of design, and that you don’t just go in and start developing ideas on paper right away. You want to study who that consumer is and what those unmet needs and pain points are that will help inform the ideation and development process.”

The project also focused on teaching students what an average day looks like in the STEM fields.
