Some of the major news-driven share price changes at 2.45pm.

RISERS

Highlands Natural Resources Plc (LON:HNR), up 36% to 34.8p. Highlands said this morning that it had successfully proved the effectiveness of its 75% owned DT Ultravert technology through a Schlumberger-led programme in Colorado.

Iona Environmental VCT PLC (LON:ION1), up 24% to 62p. Subject to shareholder approval, the company has agreed deals to sell off all of its assets, after which it will de-list and hand out the proceeds from the sales to shareholders.

Verona Pharma PLC (LON:VRP), up 9% to 3.8p. Investors were buoyed by the news that Verona is cancelling its secondary listing on Xetra, a platform of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

 

FALLERS

Laird PLC (LON:LRD), down 47% to 163p. The company had hoped to revive its performance in the third quarter, but cited “increased margin pressure” as it stumbled again in the three months to September and lowered its full year forecasts.

Rose Petroleum PLC (LON:ROSE), down 7% to 0.15p. The natural resources company raised £1mln after it issued 714.3mln shares at a price of 0.14p – a slight discount to today’s open.

Travis Perkins PLC (LON:TPK), down 6% to 1,400p. The builders’ merchant said it is closing 30 branches, while profits will be lower than expected due to weak sales in its plumbing and heating division.

RISERS

Gulfsands Petroleum plc (LON:GPX), up 18% to 3.4p. Told investors this morning that it had signed a farm-out deal with Samarium Energy with regards to the Colombian, Putamayo-14 contract.

Bellway PLC (LOON:BWY), up 5% to 2,488p. Shares in the housebuilder continued to gain after it posted a record set of results yesterday for the year to July, with pre-tax profits rising by more than 40%.

Hotel Chocolat Group PLC (LON:HOTC), up 4% to 235p. The premium British chocolatier enjoyed a strong twelve months of trading, with revenues and profits both advancing.

 

FALLERS

Datatec Ltd (LON:DTC), down 13% to 242p. It released its interims today, which revealed that group revenue fell by US$250mln to US$3.04bln, while earnings per share also fell. It cited “challenging global conditions” and a strong dollar as reasons for the weaker performance.

Veltyco Group PLC (LON:VLTY), down 8% to 22.5p. Shares dipped after it revealed that non-executive director Mark Rosman had previously been involved with a few companies that had either declared insolvency or entered into liquidation.

Cluff Natural Resources PLC (LON:CLNR), up 41% to 6.25p. Reported a “substantial” increase in the prospective resources for its wholly-owned Licence P2248 in the Southern North Sea gas basin.

Roxi Petroleum PLC (LON:RXP), up 27% to 11.26p. Posted a strong operational update this morning, which highlighted successful drilling at Well 141 at its Kazakhstan project, including the identification of five oil-bearing intervals for testing.

 

FALLERS

OneView Group PLC (LON:ONEV), down 35% to 3.5p. Blamed order delays as it told investors that revenue is likely to fall below market expectation for its current financial year.

Motorpoint Group PLC (LON:MOTR), down 17% to 139p. The independent vehicle retailer said the EU referendum had taken its toll on margins as it announced that volume and margin performance in the first half is behind management expectations.
