Sherwin-Williams Co. (SHW) reported second quarter EPS of $3.70 Thursday morning, compared to $2.94 last year. Analysts expected EPS of $3.81. The company expects to report third quarter EPS of $3.75 to $3.90 and between $10.60 and $11.00 for the full year. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $4.14 and 11.27.
Sherwin-Williams gapped open dramatically lower Thursday, but recovered some ground during the second half of the morning. The stock closed down by 20.93 at $261.23 on the highest volume of the year. Sherwin-Williams sank to a 6-month low.
