InterCore, the Mahwah-based developer of alertness technologies, announced Thursday it has strengthened its management team by hiring Remy Babin as president and chief executive officer.According to the announcement, Babin previously held management positions with Oracle and ADP. He has extensive corporate, sales and marketing experience, thereby enabling Ralph Huppe, chief technology officer, to spend more time developing the ADS System smartphone app for the iPhone and more.

The ADS System utilizes biometric monitoring of a vehicle operators head and can detect and signal the driver’s loss of alertness 45 minutes to two hours before the onset of sleep, the company said in a recent press release. In instances such as train or truck drivers, the system would provide visual and audible alerts to both the drivers and the dispatch control center.

James F. Groelinger, chief executive officer of InterCore, says the ADS system likely would have averted the recent Chicago train derailment.

“I’m excited to have Remy Babin join the SRG management team. While we like to believe that a product as obviously worthwhile and economically effective as the ADS™ System can sell itself, I understand that success requires more than that. Remy’s experience in marketing strategy development and sales growth comes at an important time for SRG as it approaches the launch of the commercial ADS™ System iPhone app. His skills will be additionally valuable later in the year when SRG is planning to launch a consumer version of the iPhone app,” said Groelinger in the press release.
