Thursday Sector Laggards: Services, Industrial

The worst performing sector as of midday Thursday is the Services sector, showing a 1.0% loss. Within that group, O'Reilly Automotive, Inc. (NASD: ORLY) and News Corp (NASD: NWSA) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 7.0% and 5.2%, respectively. Among the largest ETFs, one ETF closely following services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (AMEX: IYC), which is down 0.5% on the day, and up 0.69% year-to-date. O'Reilly Automotive, Inc., meanwhile, is up 1.67% year-to-date, and News Corp , is down 6.85% year-to-date. Combined, ORLY and NWSA make up approximately 1.0% of the underlying holdings of IYC.

The next worst performing sector is the Industrial sector, showing a 0.6% loss. Among large Industrial stocks, L-3 Communications Holdings Inc (NYSE: LLL) and Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI) are the most notable, showing a loss of 7.6% and 7.4%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Industrial stocks is the Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI), which is down 0.5% in midday trading, and up 8.95% on a year-to-date basis. L-3 Communications Holdings Inc, meanwhile, is up 16.77% year-to-date, and Robert Half International Inc., is down 21.03% year-to-date. Combined, LLL and RHI make up approximately 0.9% of the underlying holdings of XLI.
