PSA: GameStop Stores Closed On Thanksgiving

by Mike Futter on Oct 12, 2015 at 07:49 AM

GameStop has announced that it will be closing all of its stores on Thanksgiving in the United States (Disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company). This includes all of the company’s divisions, including GameStop, Spring Mobile, Simply Mac, Cricket Wireless, and Think Geek retail locations.

According to Mike Buskey, executive vice president and president of United States stores, the move is designed to give retail associates an opportunity to spend the holiday with family. “We know this is in stark contrast to what many other retailers are doing, but we are taking a stance to protect family time during this important holiday,” he says.

Stores will open again at 5 a.m. local time on Friday, November 27. Online stores for GameStop and ThinkGeek will be taking orders on Thursday without interruption.
