Employees can create apps that work on any device on a Microsoft Office-like experience and it features templates and a visual designer to automate workflows. Using built-in connections or the one built by the company, PowerApps can be connected to cloud services such as Office 365, Dynamics CRM, Salesforce, Dropbox and OneDrive and on-premise systems including SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle databases or SAP.

The PowerApps can be shared like documents.

Developers and IT professionals can build additional data connections and APIS to existing business systems. The PowerApps also adhere to existing data security and privacy controls so corporate policies can be maintained.

In its blog, Microsoft said that with PowerApps, customers have built solutions ranging from a recruiting app for an internal team to a mobile app for banking employees that connect to CRM data.
