Helper robots are about to get smarter

Already able to sweep, they're learning to fold and do windows too

TOKYO -- Robots are increasingly relieving us of our chores. Floor-sweeping robots have been around for years now, and that market is losing its buzz. So startups and other electronics makers are looking at how their products might do other jobs.

Tokyo-based Sales On Demand plans to roll out a window-cleaning machine in the spring. South Korean startup RF is now developing the cleaner. It has two magnetic parts that grab each other through a window pane, then wipe it clean.
