Upcoming Nokia C1 Android Phone Designs LEAKED

Nokia is back! Images of the upcoming Nokia C1, an Android-powered smartphone from the Finns, have surfaced and it looks great.

As reported by Ubergizmo, the upcoming phone will obviously carry the company's logo, but it has not been confirmed by any party just yet. In addition, it has been reported that mobile devices that bear the "NOKIA" name will be arriving next year, but no leaks on the hardware specifications or even its looks have occurred — until now.

Although it's not yet quite sure if the leaked designs are final, it's still interesting to see an actual rendering of the upcoming phone.

Over the years, Nokia has struggled to adapt to its competitors. Just a decade ago, the Finland-based company was at the top of the cellphone chain and was dominating its rivals, until Apple came with their iPhone.

After a year of dwindling sales, Nokia was bought by Microsoft wherein the phone ditched their usual Symbian operating system in favor of Windows mobile. But unfortunately, it still fell flat of expectations and failed to even manage a dent over the strong sales of the iPhone or even Samsung's Galaxy series.

But after years of low sales, the company is now ready to adapt to the current trend and release a fully Android operated phone.

However, Nokia C1 is not actually the first Nokia smartphone with an Android OS. It was way back in 2014 when the Finns released the Nokia XL — a phone which served as the transition between Microsoft to Google's OS.

Described by CNET as a class of its own, the Nokia XL is part-Windows phone, part-Android where it has the former's interface, but can utilize the latter's robust apps ecosystem.

But unfortunately, it resulted again in a dud because the phone was a "confusing mess" that really does not know what it is. Although it got Nokia's penchant for superior build quality, its features, performance and confusing interface make it not worth the trouble of learning how to use it.

And now, after a string of failed mobile devices, Nokia looks to capture a piece of the Android market with the Nokia C1.

Softpedia notes that, as of now, the company has yet to announce the specs of the said smartphone, but there are rumors saying that it will run on par with the current competition.

Some hopes that the Nokia C1 will feature an AMOLED full-HD display, a Corning Gorilla glass screen, a Snapdragon 820 processor and huge internal memory, with the option to expand via microSD.

But again, those are just wish lists for the upcoming device. One thing is for certain, we can't wait for Nokia to get back into the game.
