The doors to the 82,000-square-foot, “next-generation” Cabela’s will officially open in Noblesville come Aug. 20.

The company announced Thursday that the grand opening will be a weekend-long event, kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Cabela’s execs and special guests.

Doing away with the traditional giant scissors, the ribbon will be cut by an arrow shot by a local Cabela’s employee.

The ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 20 in front of the store at 13725 Cabela Parkway, off I-69 at Exit 210 in the Saxony Corporate Campus. It will be the second Cabela’s in the state, following the Hammond store that opened in 2007.

The grand opening weeked will boast sales, family events, giveaways and more. When finalized, a full list of events will be available at www.cabelas.com/noblesville.

The Nobilesville location of the destination store for outdoor enthusiasts will be about half the size of its traditional stores. Along with outdoor products, the store will include a cafe, a fudge shop and a gun library.

Last month, the company announced plans to begin accepting online applications for about 170 workers on its website.
