Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) Jumped To A New High On Strong Q2 Earnings

Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.84 Friday morning, up from $0.66 a year ago. Analysts expected EPS of $0.73. The company also increased its full year adjusted EPS forecast to between $4.65 and $4.75, from prior expectations of $4.45 to $4.65. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $4.61.

Royal Caribbean Cruises gapped open sharply higher Friday, but was range-bound throughout the session. Shares finished with a gain of 7.11 at $89.85 on above average volume. The stock broke out of a 2 1/2 week trading range and set a new high for the year.
