Restaurant Data Firm Zipscene Raises Growth Funds

Cincinnati-based restaurant industry consumer analytics specialist Zipscene has received an undisclosed amount of growth funding from Fifth Third Bancorp.

Sameer MungurFounded in 2012, Zipscene aggregates online and off-line data to identify patterns that drive guest dining decisions, develop a complete picture of each guest, and deliver diners with personalized messages. Its flagship Data Management Platform (zDMP) works with all existing sales and marketing platforms, providing transactional, demographic and behavioral analytics to enable brands to optimize marketing efforts across all media, specifically digital.

The firm's new investment adds to $5m secured last November from an unnamed source, and $3.75m raised the previous year from Chicago-based private investment firm Jump Capital.

Commenting on the latest funding, CEO Sameer Mungur (pictured) said: 'We are thrilled to have Fifth Third's investment to support Zipscene's expansion. As intelligent digital marketing becomes indispensable, Zipscene will allow brands to engage their customers at every stage of the dining experience'.
