Sony worldwide chief, Shuhei Yoshida, has recently said that he wants the next driving game, 'Gran Turismo 7,' to be compatible with the company's upcoming Virtual Reality headset called PlayStation VR, which was formerly known as Project Morpheus.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Yoshida talked about the many possible genres that could work well with their upcoming VR headset PlayStation VR. One of the mentioned genres is the racing game; and this is where Gran Turismo comes in.

"[In the] many trial tests we've been doing, some genres just work fine. One of those genres is racing games," Sony President Yoshida said [via GameSpot], ading, "So when 'Gran Turismo' comes out on PS4, I'd like to see it support PlayStation VR, yeah."

Driving games, when given the right add-ons or equipment, can certainly give the player an unforgettable gaming experience, most especially when the first-person/inside-the-car view is being used and combined with Sony's PlayStation VR.

However, with that said, the only things missing now are the seventh installment in the franchise, 'Gran Turismo 7' and the PlayStation Vr. According to GameSpot, there are still no official announcements yet for the PS4 console regarding the next installment. Luckily though, an estimated release date has been revealed and Polyphony Digital chief and creator of the series, Kazunori Yamauchi, had stated that the game could be launched before the year 2017.

Meanwhile, as for the PlayStation VR, Sony still hasn't announced the price or the specific release date for the headset. GameSpot reported that in March, Yoshida Shuhei, however,  stated  that the device will be priced as low as possible.

However, Sony President Andrew House has given a rough estimate for the price of PlayStation VR. In an interview with Bloomberg, he revealed that the device will have similar price tag to the consoles.

So far though, the only news Sony has released is the official name of the headset.
