Nissan Motor Co. announces major management changes

Hiroto Saikawa, representative director and chief competitive officer, has been appointed vice chairman of Nissan Motor Company in addition to his current responsibilities.

NEW DELHI: Japanese automotive manufacturer, Nissan Motor Co., on Tuesday announced board and senior management changes.

Toshiyuki Shiga stepped down as a representative director. He will continue to serve on the board as a director as a Nissan vice chairman.

The changes, which were announced by Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Nissan Motor Co, and approved by Board of Directors also included the appointment of Hiroto Saikawa, representative director and chief competitive officer, as vice chairman in addition to his current responsibilities.

The Board also approved the promotion of Yasuhiro Yamauchi to the position of Nissan executive vice president. Yamauchi will continue to lead the Alliance RNPO global purchasing organization and retains his title as Alliance executive vice president.

While all other board moves are effective immediately, Yamauchi’s appointment is effective from July 1, 2015.
