Newell Brands in Atlanta said Friday that it has completed the merger of Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden Corp.
The transaction creates a $16 billion global consumer goods company, which has been renamed Newell Brands and will be based in Atlanta. Brands include Paper Mate, Sharpie, Coleman, Oster, Sunbeam, Foodsaver, Mr. Coffee and Rubbermaid.
Michael Polk, who led Newell Rubbermaid, has been named CEO of Newell Brands.
The merger agreement was announced Dec. 14 for $21 in cash and 0.862 of a share in Newell Brands stock.
The company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol NWL.
