Advance Auto Parts will open a new store near Wilmington next month, the company announced Tuesday.

The new location at 4200 N. Market St., just outside city limits in the Fox Point area, is slated to open for business on June 11. A ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held June 12.

Headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, Advance Auto Parts is the nation's largest aftermarket auto parts supplier with more than 5,200 company stores, as well as 1,325 Carquest Auto Parts stores the company acquired in 2013.

The chain currently operates 14 stores in Delaware, including one on Kirkwood Highway in Prices Corner.

The company has added three new stores in Delaware since January 2013, including a location that opened in Middletown in July.

Advance Auto Parts chose to lease the newly-constructed 7,000-square-foot standalone store on North Market Street because of area's convenient location to where customers shop and the garages where they take their vehicles for repair, company officials said in a statement.

John Vega will serve as the general manager of the new store, which will be staffed by 9 other employees. All team members have already been hired, said company spokeswoman Laurie Stacy.

The company recently donated $1,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware to mark its commitment to the comm

unity, Vega said.

In addition to the sale of auto parts, the store also will provide free installation of windshield wipers and a complimentary check of a vehicle's electrical system and battery. Installation of a new battery also is provide free-of-charge with purchase on most vehicles. During regular store hours, customers also may drop off used motor oil and batteries for recycling.

Store hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
