Principal names top 10 firms for employee financial security

The Clive-based National Pork Board is one of the 10 best firms for employee financial security, Principal Financial Group said today.

For 13 years, Des Moines-based Principal has compiled a list of companies that provide the best financial benefits to employees, such as automatic 401(k) enrollment.

"The companies that invest in their employees find they have a more engaged workforce and give themselves a distinct competitive advantage," Principal Vice President Amy Friedrich said in a statement.

This year's list consists of:

- The National Pork Board, Clive.
- CoBiz Financial, a financial services firm in Denver, Colo.
- Gibson, an insurance company in South Bend, Ind.
- Haviland Enterprises, a manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Mich.
- Keller Williams Realty, an Austin, Texas, real estate company.
- Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Co., an insurance firm in San Francisco.
- Quick Left, a Boulder, Colo., technology company.
- Stellar Solutions, an aerospace company in Palo Alto, Calif.
- Strategic Communications, a technology company in Louisville, Ky.
- The Sartell Group, a Minneapolis information technology firm.
