Suspect arrested in LaPlace triple shooting
Derrence Greenup arrested in Kenner
Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a triple shooting that happened earlier this week in LaPlace. Two people died in the shooting.Derrence Greenup, 28, of Reserve, Louisiana, was identified in the Monday shooting that happened shortly before 2 a.m. in the 400 block of State Street.Travis Gregoire, 23, and Sierra Gregoire, 18, were identified as the victims who were killed in the shooting. The third victim, a 23-year-old man, was taken to a hospital. He was not identified.He faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives, U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Homeland Security and officers with the Kenner Police Department arrested Derrence Greenup near the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner.The Sheriff’s Office said deputies will transfer Greenup to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sherman Walker Correctional Center.The investigation is ongoing. Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a triple shooting that happened earlier this week in LaPlace. Two people died in the shooting.
