A Spirit Airlines flight from Florida to Minneapolis was forced to return to Fort Lauderdale on Thursday night after a bomb threat. Two men are being questioned in the incident, officials said.

The plane made an emergency landing at around 10:30 p.m., about 15 minutes after takeoff, after a "passenger was overheard possibly making mention of a bomb," the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida said in a statement.

Passengers disembarked the plane, which landed in an isolated area of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and was then swept for explosives, Broward County Sheriff's Office said.
