Veteran rock star — and Seabreeze High School alumnus — Gregg Allman took to Facebook on Monday to let fans know he's at home on doctor's orders.

“Hey everyone. I just wanted y’all to know that I’m currently home in Savannah resting on my doctor’s orders," the singer posted on his Facebook page. "I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep Rockin’."

Monday afternoon, a radio station reported that Allman was in the care of hospice, news that was spread on social media.

Allman, 69, who started his music career in Daytona Beach in the 1960s, has been battling undisclosed illnesses that forced him to cancel some 2016 concert dates and in March caused him to scrap his entire 2017 concert schedule. He is widely acknowledged as one of the architects of Southern Rock in his work with the Allman Brothers Band and as a solo act.
