Lenovo IdeaPad consumer laptops to come with customizable features and possibly Intel Skylake processors

Lenovo has released quite a number of new laptops at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin. The Chinese company released laptops for different consumers in mind, including mainstream, gaming, and portable devices.

Among the devices they unveiled, were its IdeaPad laptop line-up meant for consumers as mainstream laptops. The IdeaPad laptops run on Windows.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100S, 300S and 500S

The S line are Lenovo's Ultrabook offerings, which means that one of their key features is their thin body.

The Lenovo 100S is a thin and very affordable Windows device with a 1,366 x 768 screen resolution and 2 GB of RAM. The device comes in black and can last up to eight hours in a single charge.

There are two variants. The 11.6-inch model comes with a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735 processor, 32 GB of storage and two USB 2.0 ports. It will be sold for $189.

The 14-inch model, on the other hand, comes with a Celeron N3050 processor, 64 GB of storage. It also has a USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, HDMI ports and an SD card reader. It has a $259 price tag.

The Lenovo 300S is sold for $249 and comes in three colors, Ebony Black, Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red. It comes with an 11-inch screen and a quad-core Intel Pentium Braswell N3700 processor, but can be configured to a Skylake processor. It also uses an Integrated HG graphics and Nvidia GeForce 940M 2G discreet GPU. There is one USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, as well as an SD card reader. Battery life can last up to five hours.

The Lenovo 500S is similar to the 300S, save for a few different features. The laptop has three screen variants; a 13.6-inch, 14 and 15.6-inch screen display. Price of the laptop starts at $499. The 500S can also be configured to have an Intel Skylake Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce 920M GPU. Battery life is said to last up to 4.5 hours.

Both the 300S and 500S laptops have 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 1 TB of hard drive or 256 GB Solid State Drive. They also have Dolby Home Theatre speakers, two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, as well as a 4-in-1 card reader

Lenovo IdeaPad 300, 500

The 300 and 500 models are Lenovo's mainstream laptops, and are thicker and heavier than their S-line counterparts.

The Lenovo 300 comes in three variants, a 14-inch model for $399, a 15-inch model for $549 and a 17-inch model for $449. All three come with Full HD resolution and up to four hours of battery life.

The laptops can be configured up to an Intel Core i7 Skylake processor. They have 8 GB of DDR RAM and 1 TB of either HD or SSD. Consumers have the choice if they want to add an integrated optical drive. The 300 model also has integrated Intel HD graphics and an AMD Radeon R5 M330 GPU. There is one USB 3.0, HDMI and VGA ports, including a 4-in-1 card reader.

The Lenovo 500 can be configured to have either an Intel or AMD processor. It can have up to an Intel Core i7 Skylake CPU or an AMD A10-7300 processor.

There is a 14-inch and a 15-inch model. Depending on the specs of the laptop, price ranges from $399 up to $849.

Lenovo's new laptop offerings are promising because it allows users to have choices when it comes to which features they want included in ther devices. Additionally, the option to include the new yet already well-received Intel Skylake processors make Lenovo's consumer laptops more alluring choices.
