Friday

Diana Krall

After forays into bossa nova and ’20s jazz, Krall applied her vocal prowess to rock-pop standards on the new “Wallflower,” covering material by Dylan, the Eagles, the Mamas & the Papas, Elton John and others. That material will have a prominent role next to her typical jazz fare in this show. 8 p.m., Meadow Brook Music Festival, 3554 Walton Blvd., Rochester Hills. 248-377-0100. $15-$125.

Fantasia

Chene Park’s big summer rolls on as this “American Idol” champ and just-married 31-year-old brings her powerhouse soul vocals and a decade’s worth of hits. R&B craftsman Anthony Hamilton will open. 8 p.m., Chene Park Amphitheatre, 2600 E. Atwater, Detroit. 313-393-7128. $40-$100.

Nicki Minaj

The charismatic rap queen makes her biggest metro Detroit appearance yet, part of a summer tour supporting the career-defining album “The Pinkprint” (and its inescapable 2014 single “Anaconda”). This DTE visit comes on the heels of a headline-grabbing week for Minaj, including a Twitter tirade against MTV that wound up with Taylor Swift as collateral fallout. The night’s opening bill will include Minaj’s boyfriend, Meek Mill, along with Rae Sremmurd, Tinashe and Dej Loaf. 7 p.m., DTE Energy Music Theatre, I-75 at Exit 89, Clarkston. 248-377-0100. $31-$121.

Sunday

Tim McGraw

The Shotgun Rider Tour brings the black-hatted, rugged-voiced country star back for his latest DTE show, this time in support of his 13th album, “Sundown Heaven Town.” 7 p.m., DTE Energy Music Theatre, I-75 at Exit 89, Clarkston. 248-377-0100. $26.75-$67.75.

Wednesday

The Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson

This tour pairing would have been virtually unthinkable in the 1990s, when the Pumpkins’ artsy alternative work and Manson’s theatrical shock-rock operated in two very distinct corners of the music world. But time often blurs those sorts of boundaries, and from the vantage point of 2015, it’s all just good old ’90s rock. The Pumpkins’ hit-laden set will find Billy Corgan joined by original drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, while Manson is making his second area visit since the January release of “The Pale Emperor.” 7 p.m., DTE Energy Music Theatre, I-75 at Exit 89, Clarkston. 248-377-0100. $25.50-$95.50.
