ELKHART -- David Smith will be taking the place of Joseph Giordano III as chief financial officer of Drew Industries.

Drew, which is a supplier of components for the recreational vehicle industry and one of the region’s largest employers, said Giordano will continue as CFO for an interim period while Smith transitions into the company.

Smith’s first day with the company will be Oct. 1 and he will officially take over by Dec. 1.

For the past 10 years, Smith, 52, has served as senior vice president and CFO of Key Safety Systems, a global leader in the system integration and performance of safety-critical components to the automotive and non-automotive markets, according to a company release.

“We are delighted to welcome David to Drew Industries,” said Jason Lippert, company CEO, in the release. “We are committed to building on the success we’ve delivered over the past several years, and David’s experience, energy and leadership skills will help lead the Company through its next phase of growth, as well as help play a key role in our strategic direction.”
