MMDA: Blackout at Ortigas center during #MMShakeDrill’s nighttime activity

While power and telecommunication signal will remain open during the NCR-wide quake drill on Thursday morning, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Francis Tolentino said lights-out will be implemented for its nighttime counterpart at the Ortigas business district.

In an interview on GMA News TV's News To Go, Tolentino said: "Sa araw po, wala, pero sa nighttime drill, blackout po 'yon," he said.

The nighttime drill will run from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

'All systems go'

In the same interview, Tolentino said they have sat down with various sectors that will take part in the activities.

"Halos all set na po tayo. Nakapag-usap na po tayo sa embassies, businesses, school presidents, barangays. More or less, all set na po tayo," he said.

He added that they expect to learn and make many adjustments out of this activity as it would be the first time such is implemented across the metropolis.

"First time ho itong simulation. Maraming adjustments kasi wala ho tayong pagkokopyahan, walang gagayahing model na nasa atin," he said. — Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/RSJ, GMA News
