Bar association welcomes board members — The Mid-Hudson Women's Bar Association recently held its annual installation dinner to welcome new board members. Lindsey Goldstein, a partner at Goldstein & Goldstein, is president. Other board members are: Danielle Strauch, vice president; Melissa Manna-Williams, treasurer; Carla Tesoro, recording secretary; Miesha Rodriguez, corresponding secretary; Debra Burg and Linda Murray, directors; Pamela Richardson, delegate; Rachel Flanagan Frost, immediate past president.

Insurance executive attends seminar Robert A. "Bob" Kallman, vice president and senior sales executive with Marshall & Sterling, Inc., Poughkeepsie, has successfully completed the James J. Ruble Seminar recently held in Marco Island, Florida.

The seminar was offered by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and fulfilled the annual continuing education requirement of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.

To earn this designation, Kallman attended five courses covering all phases of the insurance business and passed five comprehensive examinations. Annual attendance in the program is required to maintain the designation. The Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) Program has been the insurance industry's source for practical, real-world education since 1969. Kallman is a 35-year veteran of the industry and has been a CIC since 1991.

Marshall & Sterling, Inc., founded over 150 years ago, is an employee-owned company with more than 425 insurance specialists in 26 branch offices in New York, California, Michigan, Florida, Virginia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Chamber plans family fun day — New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a family fun day 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Hurds Family Farm, 2187 Route 32, Modena. Activities include a corn maze, hay ride, cow train, plus a bag of apples for everyone.

"This event encourages families to enjoy outdoor fun and exercise on an amazing seventh generation family-run farm," said Kathy Prizzia, chamber executive director.
