SILVER SPRING, Md. – A 7-year-old Maryland boy fought back as a pair of armed men robbed a GameStop store.

According to Montgomery County police, the masked thieves arrived at the Silver Spring GameStop just before 9 p.m. on Friday, May 20.

The 7-year-old boy tried to fight off one of the suspects, throwing a couple punches after the man tried to grab him.

The robbers ordered store clerks and the boy’s parents to get down on the floor behind the counter. They took cash and some personal belongings before leaving the store.

The boy’s father told WTTG that he didn’t realize his son fought back until after the men left. He said he believed his son’s “natural instinct” simply kicked in and he was trying to defend himself.

Police are still investigating the case.
