Alaska Air Group Inc. Bottom Line Climbs 38% In Q3

Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK) revealed earnings for its third quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $277 million, or $2.16 per share. This was up from $200 million, or $1.47 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.10 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.4% to $1.52 billion. This was up from $1.47 billion last year.
