Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated announced plans to acquire The Coca-Cola Co.’s Baltimore bottling facility and associated distribution rights.
The sale is part of a larger deal that includes other manfacturing facilities in Silver Spring, Virginia, Indiana and Ohio that are currently owned by Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Company.
Terms of the tentative deal, expected to close early next year, were not disclosed, and company officials did not respond to a request for comment.
The Baltimore facility is located at 701 N. Kresson Street in Orangeville.
The agreement also extends Coca-Cola Bottling’s right to distribute Coca-Cola products, as well as other beverage brands it owns, in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Based in Charlotte, N.C., Coca-Cola Bottling is nation’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler.
