Police investigate Utz van theft

The Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating the theft of an Utz van that happened Friday around 10 p.m. in the 900 block of High Street.

The Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating the theft of a 1994 Utz van that happened Nov. 27 around 10 p.m. The driver crashed the van in front of a residence and fled the scene.

According to a news release, two subjects, one described as a tall, slender male wearing dark pants and a gray shirt, were seen in a dark-colored car in the area shortly before the theft. The two people are considered persons of interest, police said in the release.

Police found the vehicle about 20 minutes after the theft when it struck a residence in the first block of Lee Street, the news release states. The driver left the scene on foot in an unknown direction, according to the release. While there were no injuries reported after the crash, the residence sustained moderate damage.
