Mazda Restructures Indonesia Sales, Distribution

PT Mazda Motor Indonesia says it has signed an agreement to transfer Indonesian distribution rights to Singapore-based Eurokars Group, which will assume ownership of all 45 of the country’s Mazda dealerships.

Mazda is revamping its sales and distribution operations in Indonesia next month, saying rapid market developments are forcing it to make a drastic management change to cater to the demand.

Keizo Okue, president director-PT Mazda Motor Indonesia, says MMI has signed an agreement to give distribution rights for Mazda cars in Indonesia to Singapore-based Eurokars Group.

Eurokars has Mazda dealerships in Indonesia and Australia. It also distributes Mazda vehicles in Singapore.

“Eurokars will also be responsible for the warranty and customer service of all Mazda cars sold prior to the takeover,” Okue says in a statement. “The motor-vehicle market in Indonesia has been growing continuously and market conditions are changing rapidly.”

PT Mazda Indonesia will transfer its Mazda vehicles- and parts-distribution business to Eurokars Motor Indonesia.

Eurokars becomes Indonesia’s Mazda distributor in February, with all 45 dealers coming under Eurokars ownership.

“Using the expertise and experience in the car business in Indonesia, Eurokars Group will introduce sales activities that meet the need of customer in this market and accelerate the improvement of our customer service,” Okue says.

“I am certain they will further strengthen the Mazda brand in Indonesia.”
