The 18th Flying Pig Marathon took place in Cincinnati Sunday. Both the half and full marathons kicked off at 6:30 a.m.Sergio Reyes took first place in the Flying Pig Marathon with a finishing time of  of just over 2:26. Hear from Sergio at the finish lineSecond in the men’s marathon field was 34-year-old David Riddle of Cincinnati with a time of 2:33:43 and third was 34-year-old Brendon Moody of Van Wert, Ohio, in 2:41:12.In second place in the women's field was Flower’s high school track and field coach Kerry Lee, who led most of the marathon and crossed in 3:07:16. Lee, who coaches cross country at Anderson High School, was runner-up in the marathon in 2011, 2013 and 2015 and third in 2012 and 2014.Third in the women’s marathon was 36-year-old Tami Christensen of Liberty Lake, WA. This was her 45th marathon and her 40th state in her quest to finish a marathon in all 50 states.  David Bea was the winner of the 2016 Flying Pig half-marathon and Amy Robillard is the winner for the women. Full story on half-marathon winnersBea finished with a time of 1:14:18. He was the second place winner in the 2015 Flying Pig Full Marathon.Second in the half for the men was Kevin Herd, 44 of Maineville, in 1:15:49 and third was 33-year-old Matthew Behrensmeyer of Crescent Springs, KY, in 1:16:37.Robillard, of Montgomery, finished 1:22:40.Robillard first in the Flying Pig women's full marathon group in 2015. She won the women's half marathon in 2011 and 2012 and the full marathon in 2014. Katie Lenahan, 27, a two-time winner of the Queen Bee Half Marathon, came in second in the women’s division in 1:22:40 and third was 27-year-old Lindsey Stanek of Cincinnati in 1:28:57.This year is the Flying Pig's 18th year and it boasted the highest number of half-marathon runners yet.Marathon organizers said 39,692 registered this year, nearly 2,000 more than last year.Several runners were facing personal challenges going into Sunday's race.A young boy with muscular dystrophy completed the marathon in a stroller with the help of family and friends. In the final few steps of the race, 11-year-old Diego Ramirez got out of his chair and walked through the finish line.City Gospel Mission had a group of runners take on the course as part of the Step Forward program, a Flying Pig training group for those in recovery programs and homeless shelters.
