BlackRock Elects Former Royal Bank Of Canada CEO Nixon to Board

BlackRock Inc., the world’s largest money manager, elected Gordon Nixon, the former president and chief executive officer of Royal Bank of Canada, as an independent director.

Nixon, who retired from RBC in August of last year, will join on Oct. 6, New York-based BlackRock said today in a statement. With his addition, the firm’s board will have 19 members, including 16 independent directors.
